Description: Discover Iran, its ski resorts and its cultural wonders in 15 days.

Day 1: Paris-Tehran Arrival in Tehran, transfer and installation at the hotel.
Night at the hotel.

 

Day 2: Tehran-Dizin

Tehran is a beautiful, picturesque and bustling city, located south of Damavand, the highest point of the Alborz Range. Your discovery of the capital begins with a visit to the Golestân Palace, the oldest in the city, dating mainly from the 19th century, recently listed as a UNESCO heritage site, and which brings together prestigious buildings around a park, sumptuously decorated and museums. Then visit the great Bazaar of Tehran, then the national museum of Iran, the Museum of Glass and Ceramics (Abgineh), which is in a very beautiful 19th century pavilion. Then visit the Museum of the Joys of the Crown, a fabulous treasure, whose windows house superb precious stones, rough or cut diamonds, and tiaras with crescents. After noon departure to the Dizin ski slope, and check-in at the hotel.

Day 3: Dizin

North of Tehran, Dizin, (130 km or two hours drive) in the heart of the Alborz mountains, ranked among the 40 highest in the world. A resort inaugurated in 1969 which offers excellent snow quality with powdery snow thanks to the cold and dry climate. Summits which rise to 3960 meters, two hotels, five restaurants: a legendary resort, whose panorama is breathtaking. It has been officially recognized by the International Ski Federation for its specific physical and technical characteristics such as the slope of the course, the length of the course and the location where competitions and races take place, as well as other leisure facilities. The ski area is 470 hectares and the snow depth is between 2 and 6 meters. The ski area consists of a valley served by a gondola with a 500 m drop, a gondola in 2 sections with a 900 m drop, 4 ski lifts, a valley with a 700 m drop equipped as follows: a first section served by a gondola doubled with a chairlift, a second section served by a chairlift coupled with a ski lift. At the intermediate station there is a ski lift for beginners and a large ski lift starting at the far right of the area. Finally, at the bottom of the station there are still two ski lifts.

Day 4: Dizin

Grass skiing is a unique attraction of the resort in summer. Enjoy different types of activities, cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, telemark skiing, adapted skiing and snowboarding. Spin or jump freely on the slopes of Alborz.

Day 5: Dizin-Shiraz

In the morning ski on the Dizin slope and in the afternoon transfer to Tehran and domestic flight towards Shiraz. Arrival and transfer to the hotel.

Day 6: Shiraz

After breakfast you will discover Shiraz: the city of roses and nightingales, capital of the province of Fars where the name of the Persian language (Farsi) comes from. Shiraz lets you discover its gardens with century-old cypresses. Visit to the Narenjestan Palace or the orange grove decorated with ceramics, stucco and mosaic mirrors, the Nasir-al-Molk mosque, Qajar building with earthenware with rose motifs, Walk in the Vakil bazaar, the Vakil mosque, passage in front of the Karim khan citadel and visit to the Eram garden, a botanical garden designed in the 20th century at the end of the day. And finally in the evening visit the mausoleum of Hafez, one of the masters of Persian thought.

Day 7: Shiraz – Persepolis – Pasargadae – Shiraz 

Excursion to Persepolis, one of the largest archaeological sites located 60 km from Shiraz, built under Darius the Great in 521-486 BC. AD Discovery of the royal necropolis of Naqsh-e Rostam. Then, continuation to Pasargadae, 130 km from Shiraz, visit the first capital of the Achaemenid empire, that of Cyrus the Great and then his successor Cambyses, visit the Tomb of Cyrus the Great and return to Shiraz.

Day 8: Shiraz-Sepidan 

After breakfast, drive to Sepidan.
Pooladkaf opened in 2002, located in the Zagros Mountains 88 kilometers northwest of Shiraz is a ski resort in southern Iran. Despite its relatively low latitude, it receives adequate snow due to its high altitude. Pooladkaf benefits from its proximity to the Margun waterfall (15 kilometers): with a mild and pleasant climate, this city constitutes a favored destination for the inhabitants of Shiraz. Its ski area extends from 2810 to 3231 meters above sea level. Equipped with a 2100 meter long gondola and three ski lifts. This resort also offers a wide range of activities such as skiing, snowmobiling, a hotel, restaurants and horseback riding and mountain biking during the summer.

Day 11: Sepidan – Margun – Isfahan

Departure to Isfahan. On the way, visit the Margun waterfall. Arrival in Isfahan at the end of the day. Then, walk along the Zayandeh River, spanned by the Khadju bridges, built during the reign of Shah Abbas II, and Sio Seh Pol, with thirty-three arches.

Day 12: Isfahan

After breakfast, drive to Isfahan. The city of Isfahan is an architectural marvel. According to legend, this city was built under the Tahmoures or Keykavous kings. During the Safavid era (17th century) Isfahan was the city of gardens and palaces, at the same time it was an important center of trade. It is also nicknamed “half the world”. Visit the city considered the Florence of the East because of its blue, yellow and green mosaics and its Naqshé Jahan square (Royal square). Located in the Iranian desert, Isfahan is a Persian architectural jewel, a former crossing point on the Silk Road. Entrance to the Shah Mosque, also called the Imam Mosque. It is a magnificent example of an Iranian mosque with four Iwans and finely crafted mosaics. Then, entry to the Sheikh Lotfollâh mosque, a mosque without a minaret. Visit the Ali Qapu Palace, a five-story palace overlooking the Royal Square. At the end of the day, visit the Hasht Behesht palace (eight paradises) as well as the Chehel Sotoun palace, the palace of the forty columns.

Day 13: Isfahan

The morning will be devoted to the discovery of the Friday Mosque which preserves evidence of a very long and very rich architectural history of Iran since its construction lasted at least a millennium, from the 8th century to the 18th century. In the afternoon, visit the Armenian district of Djolfa and the Vank Cathedral (Holy Savior), symbol of the Armenian presence, is an interesting fusion of Islamic and Christian styles. The adjacent museum is dedicated to the history of the Armenian community and presents a beautiful collection of books and manuscripts. In the afternoon, you go to the bazaar which faces the Imam Mosque. Visiting Isfahan also means discovering the commercial activity of its bazaar and the artisanal treasures that can be discovered behind the stalls. Indeed, this very ancient city is also known throughout the world for its exquisite craftsmanship. You have to take the time to stroll through the aisles to discover the craft shops, the spice displays, the magnificent carpets, the silverware, etc.

Day 14: Isfahan – Kāchān – Tehran 

Departure towards Tehran; stop at Kāchān and discovery of the city, formerly one of the most prosperous oases in Iran. Visit the Agha Bozorg mosque and a traditional house, then the Bagh-e Fin garden, and the Kāchān Bazaar. Continuation to Tehran and en route, passage to Qom for a quick overview of the holy Shiite city. Arrival in Tehran in the evening.

Day 15: Tehran-Paris 

Return flight to France.
