Description: Discover our Thailand tour 14 days / 13 nights from €1,590

Day 1: Welcome to the land of smiles!

Your 14-day Thailand tour begins with an arrival at Chiang Rai airport, in northern Thailand, and transfer to your hotel in the heart of the city.
Rest of the day at leisure to recover from the long journey and jet lag.
Overnight in Chiang Rai

Day 2: Discovery of Chiang Rai and hiking at sunset.

Today you explore the city of Chiang Rai on foot and by tuk-tuk.
To begin, you stop at a local market before continuing to Wat Phra Kaew temple and the famous clock tower.
Then, you go a few minutes from the city center by car to discover the famous White Temple, as beautiful as it is intriguing!

Your day continues in the Chiang Khong valley, 1.5 hours from Chiang Rai and only a few kilometers from the border with Laos.

You arrive in a village at the end of the world, where two peoples from northern Thailand live (the Hmong and the Lahu), part of a community tourism program. You discover the eco-lodge where you can settle down for a few days. The view overlooking the Mekong and Laos is incredible.
At the end of the day, accompanied by your guide, you go for a walk through fields of banana trees and pampas, in the heart of the Thai countryside where you will not come across anyone other than farmers at work.
This walk will end under the last rays of the sun.
Have a delicious dinner on the terrace of your lodge.

Day 3: Towards ethical and community tourism

This morning, have lunch on the terrace of your lodge and enjoy the morning rays of the sun.
You then go for a walk, accompanied by your guide, in the village where you can observe the activities of daily life.
You will surely have the chance to meet the shaman and will be able to learn a little more about the rites and traditions practiced within the village.
Lunch at the lodge and relaxation.
The program continues with a batik workshop, a technique of printing and dyeing on fabric. Some women from the village will be there to teach you this traditional art. Live this moment as a unique learning and sharing experience!
Then you learn about the reforestation project managed by a few villagers and you too plant your tree in order to do your part.
You have dinner and enjoy your last night in this haven of peace.

Day 4: Wonders of Mae Salong.

Early this morning, you are driven to the Mae Salong Valley and explore the Royal Gardens of Mae Fah Luang. You meet a family who introduces you to their own coffee plantation, then you set off for a hike, lasting around two hours, to Doi Tung.
On the way back, you stop at one of the most beautiful tea plantations in the country and have the opportunity to taste some.

Day 5: On the way to Chiang Mai, “the Rose of the North”

You have the morning free, right in the middle of the rice fields, in your villa with traditional architecture.
You are then transferred to Chiang Mai. Settle into the hotel and relax.
This evening, discover the ‘Kan-Tok’ dinner, symbol of Lanna culture. Taste typical dishes of northern cuisine, seated on cushions on the floor, while attending traditional dances.

Night in Chiang Mai

Day 6: Meeting with our friends the large pachyderms.

After breakfast, you are taken to an elephant camp which is located a few kilometers from Chiang Mai, in the middle of the jungle.
Please note that we only work with eco-tourist and ethical structures. You will not ride on their backs, you will simply be able to observe them, see them take their bath and feed them. This center aims to save and protect elephants, so it is important that we move in this direction.
Night in Chiang Mai.

Day 7: Day under the sign of Buddha

For your first discovery of Chiang Mai, you first visit Wat Chedi Luang or Wat Phra Singh which are among our favorite temples. You then stop at the local market of Warorot before heading to the famous Doi Suthep temple located at an altitude of 1054m. You will have to climb nearly 300 steps to reach it but its pagodas covered in gold and the panorama of the city are worth it!
You are free for lunch but we advise you to discover Khao Soi, a crispy chicken noodle soup, a northern specialty.
At the end of the day, your guide takes you to an unusual temple where the monks exchange with visitors, from a few words to great debates about life. Unique moment of sharing!
Night in Chiang Mai

Day 8: Chiang Mai at liberty and departure for Ayutthaya

You then cycle through sublime landscapes of the Thai countryside and cross traditional villages.
At the end of the afternoon, you are welcomed by your host family and spend the night at their home, an unforgettable and powerful experience in exchange of culture!
