Khiva is one of the main cities of the Khorezm oasis and capital of the Khiva Khanate region until the Soviet invasion in 1920.
Today it is a true open-air museum town which retains its authentic charm.
It offers its visitors a thousand years of living history: history of the Kounia-Ark citadel, former residence of the Khans of Khiva, or that of Kouriniche-Khana, with its reception room with majolica tiles in white and blue colors , and the richness of its chiseled doors, perhaps that of one of the courtyards of the nineteen madrassahs, or that of the Djouma mosque. We no longer know how rich the city is in architecture and monuments.
Lunch and dinner in town.
Night at the hotel.

Day 2: Khiva-Bukhara

With the Arab conquest the city became a very brilliant Muslim religious, intellectual and commercial center and at the time it had 360 mosques, hundreds of Koranic schools, madrasas, and as many caravanserais.
Nowadays Bukhara continues to live at its own pace, regulated for millennia, imbued with majesty and nobility.
